Turkey's interest rate policy is adversely affecting both the quality and quantity of residential production.

Turkey's current economic conditions are generating significant and compounding pressures on residential production. Sustained high interest rates have driven up the cost of mortgage financing, substantially eroding the purchasing power of prospective buyers. The resulting contraction in demand has paradoxically contributed to further price inflation, while simultaneously dampening the pipeline of new housing development.

This year, the Yapı Kataloğu invited Fuat Taşkıranoğlu to serve as a jury member for its annual competition held under the name Altın Çekül, which brings together material producers and architects from the industry across three categories.
