About Us

BFTA is an architecture practice founded in Kadıköy, Istanbul in 2007 by Beylem Aydınay and Fuat Taşkıranoğlu.

For us, architecture is more than the art of building; it is a production in which form follows function and complies with regulation, yet carries the qualities of a “Work”. Every building is bound to the history, culture, materials and topography of its place; at every scale it is a public act that reshapes its surroundings, its city and its life. We also know that our design tools shape what we produce. That is why we draw on every form of representation that describes a building: writing, sketches, two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings, solid models, realistic perspectives, physical models and prototypes.

Beylem Taşkıranoğlu

After graduating from Bursa Anadolu High School, she completed her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She earned her master's degree at ITU’s Department of Architecture with a thesis titled "An Experimental Study on the Shear Strength of Reinforced and Unreinforced Alker Walls." After working in various architectural firms, she founded BFTA Mimarlık.

After graduating from Kabataş High School, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He obtained his master's degree at Yıldız Technical University (YTU) in the Department of Architecture, focusing on Computer-Aided Design, with a thesis titled "Design in Digital Media: Designing Design." After working in various architectural firms, he founded BFTA Mimarlık.
