Located in Barbaros, an Ataşehir neighbourhood whose zoning plan has been renewed, this housing development sits in an area that is set to be built up very quickly.
Where a large number of units come onto the market at the same time, investor companies usually want to stand out on quality and to offer the first and most valuable product in the sales process. In developing this project we aimed for ease of construction, a fast build and strong sales operations, while also designing a residential complex that would set itself apart from its neighbours in character and become a landmark through the facade identity it creates.
The eight blocks on the two adjacent plots are therefore set out on a square grid within the site boundaries. The blocks always meet corner to corner, and in the generous gaps left between them the ground-level landscape serves to link the different uses to one another. Sports areas, for instance, are placed in the corners furthest from the blocks, while value-generating garden functions such as the social facility and the pool are drawn into the heart of the housing.
The level difference on the larger plot is resolved through a terraced social facility scheme.
