Related project: Mutluş Apartment
Mutluş Apartment is featured with a project page on Arkiv, Türkiye's architecture archive. Run by Arkitera, Arkiv is one of the most comprehensive resources archiving buildings produced in Türkiye together with their credits, images and the designers' own accounts. The building stands in Suadiye, at a crossroads where the coastal road and Bağdat Avenue come closest to one another. In the site strategy the mass was pushed towards the corner of the plot, lifting it above the two-storey group in front to command the Marmara view.
Above the ground floor, nine storeys each hold two apartments, fully separated by a slender core running front to back. Living rooms and kitchens face south towards the sea, while the bedrooms and the core look north onto Bağdat Avenue. Two white frames set the main silhouette of the facade; within them, timber and grey bands describe the apartments horizontally and vertically, while grey porcelain ceramic was used outside the frames and on the rear elevation. Between the two frames, an aluminium curtain wall conceals the stair. The 2,958m² building was completed in 2016.
